General Music 7th Grade
This class engages 7th grades, in 4 different class groups, throughout the year. This class is considered part of the "Exploratory" that 7th and 8th graders are assigned to, taking a different subject each quarter.
This year, we will be concentrating on music theory, as it relates to the keyboard. Students will explore the different sounds available on the instrument, along with rhythmic accompaniments. Students will learn to play simple songs in the Treble Clef and many will add accompaniment. Students will also have the opportunity to compose aurally.
In all classes: 1. No cell phones are allowed to be used in class. All students will put their cell phones in a provided "pocket" on the practice room door, on their way into the class. Pocket numbers are assigned and phones can be picked up at the end of class. 2. If a student needs to text a schedule change to a parent, they can let me know and I will allow them to do so. 3. Only one student may leave the room for the restroom at a time. 4. I expect all students to be courteous to others by returning as fast as is possible.
